Token Bound Accounts

ERC-6551 (TBA) is a new Ethereum standard that allows NFTs to own things.

Traditionally, NFTs (like profile pictures, digital art, or in-game items) are just records of ownership. They don’t do much on their own. ERC-6551 changes that by giving every NFT its own smart wallet — a special on-chain account tied directly to the NFT. This is called a Token-Bound Account (TBA).

With a TBA, an NFT can now hold assets, interact with dApps, and perform actions on-chain — all while remaining fully tied to its original identity

If the NFT gets transferred to someone else, the account stays tied to it — the new owner now controls the smart wallet and everything inside.
